1st phase of Persian Gulf Mehr refinery to go operational by Mar. 2025
TEHRAN - The commander of the IRGC’s Khatam-al Anbiya Construction Headquarters said that the first phase of the Persian Gulf Mehr Refinery will become operational by the end of the current Iranian calendar year (March 20, 2025).
The refinery is under construction with good physical progress, Brigadier General Abdolreza Abed said.
Speaking on the sidelines of the closing day of the 28th Iran International Oil, Gas, Refining and Petrochemical Exhibition dubbed “Iran Oil Show 2024”, he said that after the successful development of phases 15 and 16 of the South Pars Gas Field by the Khatam-al Anbiya Construction Headquarters, the development of phases 13. 2, 23 and 24 of the field was delegated to the headquarters as well.
Today, 179 million cubic meters of gas/day produced in these phases are injected into the nationwide gas network, the official added.
Some 45 percent of the daily gasoline in the country is supplied by the Persian Gulf Star Refinery, he said, adding that the Persian Gulf Mehr Refinery is under construction with the investment of the headquarters and is under construction with the proper physical progress.
Once both the government and the Oil Ministry assist the headquarters, the first phase of the Persian Gulf Mehr Refinery will be put into operation by the year-end, the commander stated.
The launch of the Persian Gulf Mehr Refinery can help the sustainable supply of gasoline in the country, Brigadier General Abed added.
